DIETING

Dieting is a major part of many people's lifestyles in the twenty-first century. Obesity is a serious health problem that can lead to heart disease, diabetes and many other illnesses in both young and old people.
There are thousands of diets and weightloss fads on the internet, in books and in pharmacies all  over the world. Millions of people are looking for the perferct solution - a diet that allows them to eat, but does not put on the kilos and adds centimetres to their bodies. Eating is a social habit that most people enjoy and associate with fun and family and festive occasions. Eating a lettuce leaf for Christmas lunch or New Year's lunch is not what anyone would relish as they chattered to family and friends.
Beautiful lithe slim bodies flash from magazine covers, the internet and on TV screens. The obese and slightly overweight yearn to change the shape of their bodies in order to conform to the so-called social norm. Teenagers, children and adults go on extreme diets which could lead to seious health problems like bulimia and anorexia which are eating disorders.
A healthy diet and exercise could be the answer to most people's overweight problems. The right frame of mind, a positive attitude and the willingness to act are required in order to get results.
